AZ Family Sports Features Brophy Football
The Brophy College Preparatory football team will be showcased in “Unfinished Business,” a weekly documentary series on Arizona’s Family Sports (KPHE/KAZS/KAZF), Arizona’s statewide sports broadcast network. The show will premiere on August 30 and be shown on Friday nights at 9 p.m. immediately following the AIA/Arizona Cardinals Game of the Week, and on Saturdays at noon throughout the season with additional airings during the week.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to spotlight Brophy and for people to get a deep look at what our school and football program are all about,” said Head Coach Jason Jewell in a news release. “People will see the incredibly talented, intelligent, diverse and unique kids in our program. I have always said that Brophy is a special place, and now the greater community will get to see that.”
As the show’s name suggests, Coach Jewell, the Central Region Coach of the Year in 2023, will lead the Broncos into a challenging schedule in 2024. Brophy is playing in the 6A Central Region for the second season and is the defending region champion. Last season, the Broncos went 10-3 and advanced to the 6A Conference semifinals.
Chris Peterson of Big Show Productions will produce “Unfinished Business.” A 30-plus year television veteran, Peterson has covered the Valley’s biggest sporting events over the last 15 years. He most recently worked with 3TV’s longtime sports personality Bruce Cooper on “Friday Night Fever” before Cooper retired.
“This program has been in the works for several years, and it is great to see it come to fruition finally,” said Peterson in a statement. “The talented Brophy squad will make coming to work something to look forward to.”
Most of the show will focus on the football program’s day-to-day activities after school and the storylines that make the program distinct while providing opportunities to showcase Bronco student-athletes, our school facilities and the Brophy culture. Stay tuned to the “Bronco Beat” and be sure to follow @brophyathletics on Instagram as they will follow “Unfinished Business” as the documentary unfolds throughout the season.
