Dear Brophy Moms,

Welcome back! As we embark on another year together as a community of Women for and with Others, we’re reminded of the special journey we share, walking the same path alongside our sons. This year’s theme, “Bloom Where You Are Planted,” encourages each of us to find our space here at Brophy, to grow and thrive in our unique ways as we support the school, our community and our son(s). With exciting events and meaningful community service initiatives ahead, let’s continue to support one another, make a difference, and strengthen the friendships that nourish us, helping each of us to bloom where we are planted. I look forward to meeting and seeing you on campus as we share in this wonderful journey together.

Mothers’ Guild Lifetime Membership and Pay it Forward

Haven’t purchased your Lifetime Membership to the Brophy Mothers’ Guild yet? Now is the time! Lifetime Memberships are Mothers’ Guild sole source of funding. Your support helps provide monthly events, faculty/staff appreciation, special socials, senior treat days, and support for our 12 committees! Your son’s enrollment at Brophy automatically grants you a membership to Mothers’ Guild, but by purchasing a Lifetime Membership you are directly helping to create connection and engagement for the moms in our community. Mothers’ Guild Welcome Prayer Service and Kick-off Event – Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024

This is your opportunity to learn about and meet with each of our committees, preview upcoming events and learn about volunteer opportunities this academic year. It’s also a great time to meet other moms and start the year being involved with the Mothers’ Guild. Please see the Punchbowl invitation here for more details and to RSVP. Save the dates! See below for the 2024-2025 Mothers’ Guild monthly event dates. Events usually begin at 6:00 p.m. in Harper Great Hall with that month’s special activity. Invitations will be sent from Punchbowl a few weeks prior to each event to gather RSVPs. You can also find the link to our Calendar of Events on the Mothers’ Guild website here.

Class of 2025 Moms

Class of 2025 Senior Moms, you’ll want to “Save the Dates” for all of these great events!

• Three Moms Only Socials – Wednesday, Aug. 28th (evening), Wednesday, Nov. 13th (evening) and Sunday, Feb. 2nd (time tbd)
• Three Senior Treat Days – 10:50 a.m. on the Brophy campus – Thursday, Sept. 12th, Thursday, Nov. 21st and Wednesday, Feb. 12th
• Senior Moms Retreat – The much loved annual senior mom retreat will be held at Manresa from approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7th, to approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8th. More information will be communicated soon regarding the registration process. The retreat will be available only to the first 60 moms that complete the registration process.

Book club meets once a month on Mondays, 6-8:30 p.m. at The Herb Box, 7000 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Award winning books are our book club theme this year! Our first book is “The Swimmers” by Julie Otsuka. This book won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Fiction in 2023. Join us to discuss at The Herb Box on Monday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m.

Class of 2028 Moms: Freshman Mom Social – Tuesday, Sept. 10

We are excited to introduce ourselves as your Class of 2028 Mothers’ Guild committee chairs: Nikki Forman, Tatum Luoma, Carly Parkhill, and Vanessa Wong. Please save the date for our first Class of 2028 moms social on Tuesday, September 10th, hosted by the Mothers’ Guild, to kick off the year. More details to come soon via Punchbowl. Class of 2027 Moms: Sophomore Mom Social – Tuesday, Sept. 17

Welcome back Sophomore Moms! We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you and your sons got to enjoy some special time together. Please save the date of Tuesday, Sept. 17 for an evening of great conversation, laughter and fun as we connect and reconnect with friends for the first sophomore mom social of the year! Mothers’ Guild Retreats – Save the Date!

Reserve one of these weekends for one of a Brophy mom’s most treasured experiences… making meaningful memories with amazing mamas at Manresa! Our retreat dates are:

• Fall: Friday, Dec. 6 – Saturday, Dec. 7. Open to freshman, sophomore, and junior moms.
• Spring: Friday, March 21 – Sunday, March 23, 2025. Open to moms from all classes.

Space is limited for each retreat and attendance is on a first come first serve registration basis, one retreat attendance per year. We know that it takes some juggling of schedules to be able to attend, so we want to share with you the dates at this time. Keep your eye out for more information about the registration process coming this fall!

Corral Volunteers

Each month throughout the school year, the Corral (Brophy’s food service) requests volunteers to help at lunchtime. It’s a great way to catch a glimpse into your son’s school life and get a picture with your handsome Bronco while providing the rest of our Broncos a tasty lunch! If you are interested, please sign up here. Please note the time you sign up for, as early release days and Day C follow different schedules. Family members are also welcome to sign up to volunteer. We appreciate your help!

A heartfelt thank you goes to …

• Our rock star Faculty/Staff Appreciation Committee of Michelle Dietrich, Maria Domingo, Kelly Larsen, Tiffany Monroe and Heather Sunshine, for planning and organizing our first Faculty/Staff Appreciation breakfast on Monday, Aug. 5. Special thanks also to Megan Forristall, Mothers’ Guild VP Operations and Melissa Buckley, Mothers’ Guild VP Membership, for their assistance. What a wonderful way to welcome our over 180 faculty and staff members back to school and show them love!
